Abstrak

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. The results of observations at the Gunung Baringin Health Center in the district of Panyabungan Timur Mandaling Natal Regency most of the sufferers of pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) male sex who have the danger of smoking. The purpose of this study for health problems Mandaling Natal District. sectional. This research was conducted in Panyabungan Timur sub-district from October 2014 to January 2015. Samples in this study involved 30 people. The technique of collecting samples was taken using total sampling. Data obtained using questionnaires and collection sheets. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test on a computer program. The results of this study obtained a value of p = 0.01 which means the value of p is smaller than the value of α (0.05). So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between smoking and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Recommendations for future researchers are expected to discuss more about other factors that can cause pulmonary tuberculosis.
