STUDI KUALITATIF PENCEGAHAN PENYAKIT INFEKSI MENULAR SEKSUAL PADA KOMUNITAS WARIA DI KECAMATAN PANYABUNGAN KABUPATEN MANDAILING NATAL TAHUN 2018

Abstrak

IMS (Sexual Transmitted Infection) is an infection which mostly spreads through sexual intercourse in which the mate has been infected, but it can also be infected by non-sexual intercourse. This sexual intercourse is committed through vaginal, through mouth (oral/karaoke), or through anal. Non-sexual intercourse can also through blood transfusion, contaminated injection syringes, or through other contaminated objects like towels, One of the communities that take high risk of being infected by IMS is homosexuals (or transvestites). The objective of the research was to find out the methods of preventing from IMS in the homosexual community in Kecamatan Panyabunga, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Serdang Subdistrict Subdistrict, Bedagai District. The research used qualitative method. The data were gathered by conducting interviews, observation, and documentation. The method of analyzing the data was by using triangulation on the key and the main informants. The data were analyzed by using on going analysis technique, the analysis on what occurred in the field, based on the gathered data. The result of the research showed that the homosexuals had good knowledge and attitude in preventing from IMS. Their good knowledge and attitude were realized by doing good action, that it, by having the IMS examined regularly to puskesmas (public health center). However, their risky sexual behavior such as committing sexual intercourse through anal and committing it without using condoms was still done although their knowledge in how to prevent from IMS was good. It is recommended that homosexuals use condoms in committing sexual intercourse with their customers and with their permanent mates. Health care providers should continuously help homosexuals so that they will be healthy, especially in the reproduction health
