FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI RISIKO HIV/AIDS TERHADAP KELOMPOK WARIA DI KLINIK INFEKSI MENULAR SEKSUAL (IMS) PIDOLI KOTA PANYABUNGAN TAHUN 2019

Abstract

Since first discovered in 1987, the HIVAIDS cases have been increased in 33 provinces and 300 districts/ cities of Indonesia. The accumulation of HIV/AIDS up to the end of 2012 were 92,251 cases. Three of the 15 shemales at Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Bestari Clinic are found to have suffered from HIV/ AIDS. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors influencing the risk of HIV/ AIDS on shemale group at STI at Bestari Clinic in the City of Medan in 2014. The population of this observational analytic study with case control design was 192 shemales visited the STI Bestari Clinic in the City of Medan, from January to December 2013. And 36 of them were selected to be the sample in the case group and 36 to be in the control group. The data obtained were analyzed through univariately, bivariately and multivariate analysis by using multiple logistic regression tests. The results of bivariate analysis showed that the variable of knowledge (OR=3,250;95%CI 1,217-8,676), attitude (OR=3,500;95%CI 1,260-9,724), and action (OR=3,750;95%CI 1,379-10,200) had influence on the incidence of HIV/ AIDS in the shemale group. The result of multivariate analysis showed that the dominant variable influenced the incidence of HIV/ AIDS in the shemale group was attitude, where the shemales with unfavorable attitude had 3,59 times more risky to be suffered from HIV/ AIDS than those with favorable attitude. Medan City Health Service is expected to strengthen the VCT services in order to find the cases of HIV/ AIDS to reduce the risk of transmission and risky behaviors. STI Bestari Clinic in the City of Medan is expected to improve the extension on HIV/ AIDS for the community through electronic media, mass media as well as improving the quality of IEC and the use of condom among high-risk groups
