PENGARUH PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN TINDAKAN PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI KARYAWAN KILANG PAPAN PT LINTAS TIMUR KOTA PANYABUNGAN TAHUN 2019

Abstrak

Employees who work in the wood processing of lumber mill face various exposures of pollutants such as wood dust, material finishing dust, solvent and thinner steam, and noise each day. The exposure and the risk at the working site cannot always be avoided by most of the employees so that they need APD (personal protective device). PT Hidup Baru is one of the wood processing mill and all its employees do not use APD when they are working. The research was conducted at Perusahaan Kilang Papan (Wood Processing Mill) PT Hidup Baru, Binjai. The objective of the research was to find out the influence of training about the used of APD on the employees’ knowledge and action at PT Hidup Baru. The research used quasi experiment method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population was all 43 employees at PT Hidup Baru, and all of them were used as the samples.The result of the research showed that there was significant influence of training about the use of APD on the improvement of respondents’ knowledge (p = 0.000), and there was the influence of the use of APD on the action of using APD (p = 0.000).It is recommended that the management of PT Hidup Baru supervise the employees in using personal protective devices and create comfortable work environment
