KONSEP DIRI ORANG DENGAN HIV-AIDS DI KOTA PANYABUNGAN (STUDI KASUS) TAHUN 2020

Abstract

Many researches show that PLWHA(People Living With HIV-AIDS) get many negative stigmas and discriminations among family and society. The aim of this research “Self-concept of People Living With HIV-AIDS (PLWHA) in Medan” is to disclose the development of PLWHA self-concept from their social interaction in family and society and to find the implication of PLWHA self-concept in the HIV-AIDS intervention system. This research is a qualitative research with feministic paradigm that tries to discover PLWHA self-concept as a group of people that is socially marginalized. The strategy that is used in this research is case-studies from two PLWHA, Astri and Handoko with life-history method. The information’s are collected with deep interview and participatory observation from 10 informants. Results that are gained from this research are the internal and external dimentions of PLWHA’s self concept, factors that contribute to their self-concept, the self-concept’s effects to the HIV-AIDS intervention systems that are found positively influence
